Hi everyone! We've posted some blog posts on COVID-19 updates in Quebec, but what's happening in the rest of the world? This blog post will give information on international COVID-19 updates.

Global Cases

As of 10:44am on October 29, there has been 44,521,522 global confirmed cases of COVID-19. The number of deaths is 1,174, 769 and the number of people that have recovered is 30,078,002.

Canada

On October 28, there has been 2, 699 new COVID-19 cases in Canada. The number of cumulative cases in Canada is 225,586 as of October 28. The number of confirmed deaths is 10,032 and the number of people that have recovered from the corona virus is 188,867.

The United States of America

The United States of America reported more than 500,000 cases in a week, which is a new record. The record shows how quickly the virus is spreading since it took more than three months for the first 500,000 cases in the United States. The U.S. has reported a daily average of approximately 71,000 new cases over the past week, an increase of around 40% from the average two weeks earlier.

EU/EEA and the UK

As of October 29, 6,694,006 cases have been reported in the EU/EEA and the UK.

France: 1,235,132 cases
Spain: 1,136,503 cases
United Kingdom: 942, 275 cases
Italy: 589,766 cases
Germany: 481,013 cases
Belgium: 368,243 cases
Netherlands: 329,321 cases
Poland: 299,049 cases

etc.

Furthermore, there has been 215,116 deaths as of October 29.

Eastern Mediterranean: 3,010,758 confirmed cases
